FOOT SOLDIERS: Students at the Isaac L. Sowers Middle School in Huntington Beach collected 1,000 pairs of shoes for the homeless, part of a drive led by the county’s Podiatric Medical Assn. But helping out is nothing new for Sowers. . . . Last month its students raised $7,000 in a March of Dimes walk-a-thon, more than any other middle school here for the sixth straight year. Its reward: Two bronzed tennis shoes that hang in the school’s trophy case. Quipped Principal Ian Collins: “Sowers is becoming known for its soul.”
