The Citadel Picks a Black as Its Top-Ranking Cadet

CHARLESTON, S.C. — For the first time in its 150-year history, The Citadel has chosen a black student as its highest-ranking cadet. Norman P. Doucet will become the regimental commander of the military school’s corps of cadets.
