Homer Likes Them: With its corporate tongue firmly in its cheek, Winchell’s, the Santa Ana-based doughnut and coffee house chain, has hired TV’s Homer Simpson to pitch its product.
When asked about his new role, the cartoon character responded that he was “truly honored to be named Winchell’s Doughnut Ambassador. . . . OK, I said it. Can I get a dozen doughnuts now?”
The advertising campaign features Simpson and the declaration that “Doughnuts made me what I am today.” What more need be said?
