Gasoline Prices Rise After Steady Summer Drop-off: The national average price of a gallon of gas at the pump, including all grades and taxes, was 114.96 cents, up 0.39 cents from two weeks earlier, according to the Aug. 20 Lundberg Survey of 10,000 gas stations nationwide. Analyst Trilby Lundberg said the increase came from heavy driving and pressure on retailers recovering from the steady drop in gas prices since the beginning of June.
