‘Suspicious’ Blaze at Vacant Store Causes $20,000 in Damage

ANAHEIM — Fire “of suspicious origin” caused $20,000 damage to a vacant store at 1223 S. Knott Ave. about 2:20 a.m. Sunday, firefighters reported.
There were no injuries in the fire, which required 21 minutes to bring under control, a fire official said.
The cause of the fire has not been pinpointed, and an investigation is underway to determine if arson was involved.
Anaheim firefighters were assisted by the Buena Park and Orange County fire departments in combatting the blaze.
