UAL Unions Offer $3.3 Billion in Cuts: United Airlines’ unions are proposing that employees trade five years of wage and benefit cuts totaling $3.345 billion for a majority stake in the airline’s parent company. The savings figure, contained in a letter sent this week to United pilots from union leaders, has not changed during negotiations since the ownership proposal was first made last month, the letter says.
