Santa Monica : Mural to Be Dedicated

A mural dedication ceremony will be part of a community youth festival Saturday that will feature games, an art show and performance by Fly-Guy Productions.
Activities begin at 2 p.m. at Virginia Avenue Park in Santa Monica. Officiating at the dedication will be artists Gerado Santiago and Erik Juarez, Mayor Pro Tem Tony Vazquez and Mayor Judy Abdo.
The mural, on the south side of the Santa Monica Freeway beneath the Cloverfield Boulevard overpass, depicts a Mexica warrior metamorphosing into a present-day barrio warrior.
