Rhapsody in Green, an environmental group, is seeking volunteers to help restore the El Segundo Dunes on Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon.
Under the direction of biologists, volunteers will remove exotic plants, replacing them with native species. Situated at the western end of the runways at Los Angeles International Airport, the dunes are noted as the home of the endangered El Segundo blue butterfly and several other rare plant and animal species.
The volunteers will meet at 10001 Pershing Drive in Playa del Rey. Information: (213) 654-5821.
