FULLERTON — A 21-year-old Gardena man was shot four times and critically wounded in a melee between two groups of young men early Sunday morning outside a Fullerton nightclub.
Police said the incident may be gang related.
The victim, Ha Ton, was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange. Police said Ton suffered bullet wounds in the chest, stomach and an arm.
“It was a fight involving about 20 persons outside Diamond’s at 904 W. Orangethorpe,” said Lt. Rex Stricklin. Stricklin said two groups began quarreling in the parking lot of Diamond’s at 12:40 a.m. Sunday. He said the dispute resulted in an exchange of gunfire. Ton was the only person known to have been wounded, Stricklin said.
No suspects have been immediately identified and there have been no arrests, Stricklin said.
