The Denver Rio Grande Ski Train--as popular among non-skiers as skiers--begins its winter runs Saturday, departing promptly at 7:15 a.m. from Denver’s Union Station. After gaining 4,000 feet and chugging through 29 tunnels, it arrives two hours later at Winter Park Resort. Round-trip fares start at $30. Besides offering exceptional skiing, Winter Park has much for non-skiers, including sleigh rides, snowmobile rides and tours, ice skating and shopping. For information and reservations, call (303) 296-ISKI.
