THOUSAND OAKS : Garbage-Collection Fee to Increase 6%
- Share via
Thousand Oaks residents will pay 6% more for garbage collection starting next month, as the City Council has approved the first fee hike in two years.
Finance Director Robert Biery attributed the jump to increased costs, including pricier diesel fuel for the garbage trucks and more costly workers’ compensation fees.
On Jan. 1, the single-family rate for curbside pickup will increase to $17.60 a month. Residents of multifamily dwellings will pay $13.25 a month. Those rates are in line with the rest of the county, council members said Tuesday.
