Canoga Park Should Absorb Winnetka
* The Dec. 22 Valley section had a map of the San Fernando Valley on page B2. Bordered by Woodland Hills on the south, Canoga Park on the west, Northridge on the north and Reseda on the east is the nonentity Winnetka.
Now that I can see its boundaries clearly, I find that I live in Winnetka. In the 39 years that I have lived in my house south of Vanowen Street, east of De Soto Avenue, north of Victory Boulevard and west of Mason Avenue, I have thought I lived in Canoga Park. The mailing address has always been Canoga Park.
I have tried to figure out why there is a Winnetka. I don’t think that anyone knows. Since West Hills took a large part of Canoga Park, I can see no reason why Canoga Park shouldn’t absorb Winnetka. No one knows it is there anyway.
