COMMUNITY COLLEGE BASKETBALL : Golden West’s Streak on the Line Tonight

Golden West puts its 65-game home winning streak on the line at 7 o’clock tonight in an Orange Empire Conference women’s basketball game against visiting Orange Coast.
The Rustlers (26-4, 8-1 in conference) are the second-ranked team in Southern California. Golden West is coming off a 79-75 overtime loss to Cypress last Friday. The loss ended Golden West’s 25-game conference winning streak.
Golden West leads second-place Fullerton (18-11, 6-2) by 1 1/2 games with three left. Riverside (21-9, 4-4) is at Fullerton also at 7 tonight. Fullerton has four games remaining.
Orange Coast (17-10, 5-4) lost to Golden West, 79-71, in overtime in the first round.
In the men’s race:
Saddleback (19-6, 9-1) holds a one-game lead over Riverside (22-6, 8-2) with four left. Saddleback, which won the conference title last season, travels to Cypress (12-17, 3-7) for a 7 p.m. game.
Riverside plays host to Fullerton (21-8, 6-4).
