An Ontario man who worked as a campus supervisor at a San Dimas center for abused children was arrested Tuesday on charges of misdemeanor possession of child pornography, including a large supply of magazines and videos, Ontario police said.
Scott Edward Kochevar, 25, is being held at San Bernardino County’s West Valley Detention Center on $100,000 bail. Ontario police originally arrested Kochevar March 21 after police searched his home and allegedly found the pornographic material.
Kochevar was released, then rearrested Tuesday after police finally sorted through and presented the mass of alleged evidence.
Kochevar worked at the McKinley Home for Boys--a residential treatment center for abused children--for four months before his arrest.
Executive Director Jane Van Stedum said Kochevar has been suspended indefinitely. Van Stedum also said none of the children complained of problems with Kochevar during interviews the center conducted after his arrest. Kochevar is a trained child care worker who came to McKinley “with great references” and passed a standard background check for sex offenses, Van Stedum said.
