Intel to Build Arizona Plant: Intel Corp., a leading computer microprocessor manufacturer, said it will build its next factory in Chandler, Ariz. The selection of the Arizona site, where Intel already has a variety of operations and 4,000 employees, had been widely expected in the industry. The new $1.3-billion fabrication plant, scheduled to begin production in early 1997, will create 2,000 jobs for Santa Clara, Calif.-based Intel. It will produce the next advanced version from the Pentium family of microprocessors, which serve as the brains of personal computers.
