PREP ROUNDUP : Jensen, Geiger Lead Laguna Beach to Victory

Christian Jensen and Jason Geiger each scored four goals to lead Laguna Beach to an 11-4 victory over La Verne Bonita in the championship of the Valencia water polo tournament Saturday at Valencia High.
John Rootlieb added a goal and Mike Marriner recorded 11 saves for Laguna Beach (4-0).
Jensen, tournament MVP, scored 16 goals in four games, including four in Laguna Beach’s 9-7 victory over Encino Crespi (2-1) in the semifinals. Chris Dornin and Geiger each added two goals and Marriner had 10 saves for the Artists in the semifinal contest.
In consolation games:
Los Amigos 8, Mater Dei 7--Bryan Morris scored five goals for Los Amigos (3-1), which finished fifth in the 16-team tournament.
Orange 14, Santa Ana Valley 7--Ryan Christensen scored six goals, Jeff Gorman, Braydon Krabbe and Bill Adams each scored two goals and Todd Calvert recorded six saves for Orange (1-3).
In the championship of the Valencia girls’ volleyball tournament:
Kennedy 2, Valencia 1--Kennedy was 8-0 in pool play and 3-0 in the championship bracket, including a 15-11, 15-8, 15-12 victory over Valencia to win the tournament. Claire Lee and Lisa Pitt were named to the all-tournament team.
