PREP NOTES : Los Alamitos-Santa Ana Valley Game Moved to Century
- Share via
The Division I-AA boys’ basketball second-round playoff game Friday between Los Alamitos at Santa Ana Valley has been moved to Century High.
Originally scheduled for Santa Ana Valley’s gym, the game site was changed in anticipation of a large crowd.
After Los Alamitos officials questioned Southern Section Commissioner Dean Crowley about the size of Santa Ana Valley’s gym, Crowley talked with Santa Ana Valley Athletic Director Leon Smith, who admitted the gym seats fewer than 1,000.
Section guidelines, according to Crowley, call for playoff games to be played in larger gyms than that.
“We wanted to accommodate the anticipated attendance of the game,” said Crowley, who asked Smith to find a site that could accommodate 1,200 to 1,400 spectators.
