Electro Rent Earnings Up 7% in 3rd Quarter

Electro Rent Corp., the Van Nuys computer leasing firm, said its earnings for the fiscal third quarter that ended Feb. 28 were $3.1 million, up 7% from $2.9 million in the same period a year earlier. Revenues were $30.3 million, up 9% from $27.8 million the same quarter the previous year.
For the nine months, the company said earnings were $10.3 million, up 23% from $8.4 million a year earlier. Revenues for the quarter were $88.8 million, up 7% from $82.8 million in the year-earlier period.
The company attributed the results to an expansion of its rental operations during the first nine months and continuing through the third quarter.
