CHANNEL ISLANDS HARBOR : Festival to Offer Food, Wine, Entertainment

Channel Islands Harbor near Oxnard will hold a feast of food and wine this weekend during the third annual “A Taste of Ventura County” festival.
The event, which runs Friday through Sunday, will feature international cuisine from more than 20 Ventura County restaurants, a selection of fine wines and musical entertainment.
Visitors will be able to sample a multitude of gourmet dishes, teas, coffees, beers and flavored waters. Oxnard’s Gull Wings Children’s Museum will hold a special section for children, and a variety of tattoo artists, ice sculptors and caricaturists will be on hand to entertain the family.
The festival will take place from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Admission will be free from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. The rest of the time, the event will cost $6 for adults and $3 for children, military personnel and senior citizens.
Organizers include Ventura County, the Greater Oxnard & Harbors Tourism Bureau and the Channel Islands Harbor Assn. of Lessees. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Ventura County Maritime Museum. For information, call 985-4852.
