Francis J. Hosford, a 36-year Newbury Park resident, has died after a brief illness. He was 71.
Hosford loved to travel, and he and his wife, Dorothy, would vacation all over the world after he retired from his job as an experimental machinist for Hydra Electric in Burbank.
“He enjoyed the time he had.” said his only daughter, Katherine Baylis of Lake Forest. “We always went traveling when I was little, but then it was often camping, before they had the time and money to take cruises.”
Baylis said her father sometimes took her son, Heath, his only grandson, on the cruises and trips, which went everywhere from Europe to Alaska.
Hosford was born in Horton, Kan., and is survived by his wife, Dorothy, and his daughter.
Private services are being handled by Pierce Brothers Griffin Mortuary in Thousand Oaks.
