Bausch & Lomb to Lower Manufacturing Costs: The Rochester, N.Y.-based contact lens maker said it will invest more than $30 million to install the next generation of soft contact lens manufacturing technology. Bausch & Lomb Inc. said the capital investment for new equipment follows the successful completion of the first phases of a joint-development program with International Business Machines Corp. for systems design and prototype production.
