West Hills : Orcutt Ranch Adobe Undergoing Repairs
- Share via
Repairs are under way on the historic Orcutt Ranch adobe house in West Hills, with the building expected to reopen in approximately three weeks, a city parks official said Friday. The rest of the 24-acre horticultural site remains open to the public.
“The old building is going through some retrofitting,” said James Ward, a supervisor with the Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department’s Van Nuys office.
Tours of the adobe were suspended in July and August because of the heat, Ward said, a schedule that allowed crews to repair earthquake damage and install an air conditioning system while the building was closed.
