La Canada 41, St. Genevieve 12--Sam Paneno rushed for 243 yards and three touchdowns to lead host Spartans in a runaway. Erik Ovanespour rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns for La Canada.
Paneno opened the scoring with a 42-yard run on his first carry from scrimmage. He scored on a 74-yard run on his first carry of the second half.
Both of Ovanespour’s scoring runs came in the second half. He had the game’s longest run for a 76-yard TD and later added a 12-yard score.
Both of St. Genevieve’s touchdowns came on big plays. Danny Buhler had a 33-yard touchdown run and Rodney Villanueva caught a 54-yard scoring pass from Vince Pisano, who passed for 115 yards.
