SOUTHERN SECTION ROUNDUP : Boyd’s TD Run Lifts Channel Islands

Running back Mookie Boyd scored on a six-yard run with 32 seconds left to play to give visiting Channel Islands a 32-29 victory over Rio Mesa on Friday night.
Boyd ran for two more touchdowns on runs of six and two yards, and finished the game with 150 yards in 21 carries.
Rio Mesa running back Bruce Samuel scored three touchdowns on runs of 69, six and two yards and finished with 165 yards in 19 carries.
Channel Islands quarterback Charles Merricks completed 15 for 23 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns.
Rio Mesa quarterback Farhaad Azimi completed six of 13 passes for 133 yards and had a 59-yard touchdown pass to Randy Hurt.
