Coach: Jim Brumm (eighth year).
1994: 22-6 overall, 5-0 in the Century League; lost to Corona del Mar, 6-4, in the semifinals of the Division I playoffs.
Key returners: Robby Arroyo, utility, So.; Kevin Brantley, driver, Sr.; Brian Brown, utility, Sr.; Ryan Brown, goalkeeper, Sr.; Nick Ellis, goalie, So.; Greg Friend, utility, Sr.; Ryan Gray, driver, Sr.; Scott Hay, utility, Sr.; Paul Maull, goalkeeper, Sr.; Adam Metzger, two-meter defender, Sr.; Jeff Pflueger, utility, Jr.
Key newcomers: Ryan Carroll, driver, Jr.; Jeremy Katz, driver, Jr.; Jason Korengold, two-meter defender, Jr.; Matt MacPhearson, utility, So.; Nick Pirro, driver, So.
Outlook: Foothill has had some talented teams but this is Brumm’s deepest. The Knights, top-ranked in the Southern Section’s Division I preseason poll, have three strong goalkeepers, two of which (Ryan Brown and Ellis) played for the U.S. national youth team. Then there’s Brian Brown (116 goals), Arroyo, Pflueger and Hay, four all-section Division I selections. Add to that Brantley, a talented driver and passer, and you have the makings of a title contender.
