Traveling around Thanksgiving is always a headache. Expect it to be even worse this year.
Officials from the Los Angeles Department of Airports are expecting a record 54 million passengers to go through Los Angeles International Airport by year’s end.
The heaviest travel days for the Thanksgiving weekend are Wednesday and Sunday, said airport spokeswoman Nancy Niles. The department is recommending that passengers arrive at the airport at least two hours ahead of departure for domestic flights and three hours for international flights.
Passengers also should expect delays resulting from heightened Federal Aviation Administration security.
