Brea Gets Credit for Its Financial Reports

BREA — For the fifth consecutive year, the city has won a top commendation for its financial reporting.
Financial officer Lawrence D. Hurst also received an achievement award from the Government Finance Officers Assn. of United States and Canada, a nonprofit group that presents the annual awards.
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, which the city received for its 1993-94 financial statements, is the highest recognition given by the organization, officials said.
