Gays Excluded From Parade Hold Vigil

KEY WEST, Fla. — About 200 gay churchgoers excluded from the city’s annual Christmas parade sang “O Come All Ye Faithful” during a prayer vigil as the floats passed them by.
The parade Saturday included about 400 people dressed as angels and shepherds, along with five floats.
The Lower Keys Ministerial Assn. angered many here by barring the predominantly gay Metropolitan Community Church from the parade, saying the coalition of church groups didn’t want to condone homosexuality.
Protesters held signs saying “The Christian Right Is Neither” and “God Does Not Discriminate.”
