COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Thompson, Mashia Lead USC Women

Tina Thompson scored 23 points and Erica Mashia added 16 as the USC women’s basketball team defeated the University of Maine, 66-60, at Orono, Maine.
Mashia made only two of eight field goals but was 12 for 12 from the free-throw line and had four assists for the Trojans (2-1), who overcame a 35-24 halftime deficit in front of 2,478 at Alfond Arena.
Jody Anton also scored in double figures for USC, making two of four three-point shots and finishing with 10 points.
Cindy Blodgett led Maine (4-3) with 27 points.
