OXNARD — Police were searching Saturday for a man who tried to hold up an Oxnard convenience store but fled when another customer entered the building.
Police said the robber strode up to the counter at Chala’s Texaco Center in the 300 block of North Oxnard Boulevard shortly before 7:30 p.m. Friday. The robber brandished a handgun and demanded cash from the clerk, police said.
But police said the clerk did not hand the robber any money, and the man fled when another customer came into the store.
The robber was last seen running from the store toward the alley between A Street and Oxnard Boulevard.
