PREP ROUNDUP : Ludwicki Leads Fountain Valley Past Ocean View

Jennifer Ludwicki had 24 points to lead second-ranked Fountain Valley past Ocean View, 58-37, in the finals of the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions girls’ basketball tournament Saturday at Santa Barbara High.
Fountain Valley (11-1) jumped to a 13-5 lead in the first quarter behind eight of Nicole Strange’s 16 points. Ludwicki scored nine points in the second quarter as the Barons led at halftime, 30-14.
Becky Fraser led Ocean View with 16 points.
In the Sparks (Nev.) Reed tournament:
Mission Viejo 47, Rocklin (Nev.) 39--Tami Higham scored 18 points and Denise Coker had eight points and nine rebounds for Mission Viejo (5-5) in the fifth-place game. Higham scored 72 points in four tournament games.
In the El Monte Arroyo tournament:
Dana Hills 35, Palm Desert 25--Erika Tillman had 12 points and Jennifer Hass had 11 for the Dolphins (3-7) in a consolation game.
In the Sparks (Nev.) Reed boys’ basketball tournament:
Dana Hills 64, Fallon (Nev.) 52--Dana Hills (7-4) outscored Fallon in the fourth quarter, 29-9, to win the third-place game. Jeff Barnett made four three-pointers in the fourth quarter and finished with 14 points. Mike Hutchens scored 24 points and Tim McKee had 12.
In nonleague boys’ basketball:
Buena Park 69, Orange Lutheran 47--Towan Oliver had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Buena Park (8-3).
