Apparently it is real estate agent Jeff Landau who does not know the rules (“Letters,” Dec. 3). As required by the Civil Code, upon entering discussion of a transaction, real estate agents must give to buyers and sellers a “Disclosure Regarding Real Estate Agency Relationships.”
Under duties regarding dual agents on this form is the statement:
In representing both seller and buyer, the agent may not, without the express permission of the respective party, disclose to the other party that the seller will accept a price less than the listing price or that the buyer will pay a price greater than the price offered.
