Clinton Hears Pastor Warn of ‘Power Trips’

WASHINGTON — President Clinton and dozens of other churchgoers who perform government services were advised by their pastor on Sunday not to abuse the public trust by going on “power trips.”
Clinton and his daughter, Chelsea, ventured out into the snow and cold of Washington to attend services at Foundry United Methodist Church.
Senior minister J. Philip Wogaman’s message was that at a time of diminishing government resources and anti-government rhetoric, people of public service still perform important functions, but they must remember not to let the power go to their heads.
