Fokker, McDonnell Won’t Confirm Talks: Representatives of the Dutch and U.S. aircraft makers would not comment on a Dutch newspaper report that the two were talking. The daily Volkskrant reported that Fokker received a delegation from St. Louis-based McDonnell last week. Fokker, which has sought protection from creditors for some of its subsidiaries, needs a new investor to provide it with cash to stay in business. Fokker has confirmed that it is in talks with Korea’s Samsung Group and Canada’s Bombardier Inc. Also, France’s Aerospatiale confirmed that, together with British Aerospace and Italy’s Alenia, it is looking into possible cooperation with Fokker. Fokker said all of the candidates are interested only in its subsidiaries, not the entire company.
