Universal Pictures Names New Distribution Chief: Nikki Rocco, previously executive vice president of distribution, was named to replace Fred Mound, who becomes a consultant. The move, which takes effect next week, was made by Casey Silver, recently named chairman of MCA’s Motion Picture Group. Rocco, who joined Universal in 1967, is the highest-ranking woman in the studio film distribution business. A 44-year veteran of the film industry, Mound joined Universal in 1981 and was president of distribution for the last eight years. Universal is part of MCA Inc., which is 80%-owned by beverage maker Seagram Co.
