The Hollywood YMCA has won an award from the Hollywood Arts Council for a renovation project completed last September on its 82-year-old historic location.
The Arts Council presented the YMCA with its 1996 “Charlie Award” for the architectural excellence of the building, said Kate Lockard, spokeswoman for the YMCA. The renovations preserved the facade of the building, Lockard said.
The YMCA also won an award from the Hollywood Coordinating Council for the organization’s commitment to the community, Lockard said.
