CANYON COUNTRY — A 27-year-old Saugus woman was killed Wednesday when her pickup truck drifted across the center of Sierra Highway and hit a tractor-trailer carrying a mobile home, California Highway Patrol officers said.
The woman, whose name was not released pending notification of her family, was driving south on Sierra Highway, just past Davenport Road, about 1:30 p.m. when her pickup drifted into the path of a northbound tractor-trailer, CHP Officer Jodi Giefer said.
The tractor-trailer veered onto the shoulder of the road, but its trailer, carrying a mobile home, still jutted out into the highway, and the pickup ran into the home, Giefer said. The woman was dead at the scene.
