Police Looking for Man Who Molested Two Schoolgirls

TIMES STAFF WRITER

Police are searching for a child molester who entered a school restroom and attacked two girls after exposing himself to two other students, authorities said Wednesday.

The man, in his 30s, exposed himself to two students ages 8 and 9 about 11 a.m. Monday at the Calvary Church school on Tustin Avenue. The girls ran and told school staffers, Police Lt. Bob Helton said.

Meanwhile, the man went to a girl’s restroom and crawled under a stall, where he assaulted a 7-year-old girl. He then crawled back out of the stall and molested a 7-year-old girl standing nearby, Helton said.

As he walked out of the restroom, a school staffer stopped him and attempted to ask the man questions “probably along the lines of who are you and what are you doing here,” Helton said.

“He took off running,” Helton said.

A man matching the child molester’s description had exposed himself to a 5-year-old girl on Jan. 19 at Temple Beth Sholom Children’s Learning Center in the 2600 block of N. Grand Avenue, about a mile and a half away from Calvary Church, police said.

Police describe him as Latino, 5 feet 9, and 160 pounds with a medium build. He was wearing a red shirt, blue-striped shorts and a blue baseball cap.
