Suicide advocate Jack Kevorkian struck back at his critics, filing a lawsuit and demanding $10 million from the American Medical Assn. for calling him a “killer.” Kevorkian also named the Michigan State Medical Society and various officers of the two medical groups in the suit, which was filed in Wayne County Circuit Court. At a Detroit news conference, Kevorkian attorney Geoffrey Fieger said his client plans to use any damages he might receive from the lawsuit to set up a clinic where sick people could come to die with a physician’s assistance. AMA General Counsel Kirk Johnson called Kevorkian’s suit “nonsense.”
