Corona del Mar High School’s principal, Don Martin, said he couldn’t be more pleased.
Students at Corona del Mar outperformed both state and national averages in last year’s Advanced Placement examinations, results of which were released recently by the California Department of Education.
Corona del Mar received a score of 38.1, which means that 38.1% of its juniors and seniors scored a 3 or better on advanced placement exams and qualified to receive college credit.
On average, 11.1% of California high school juniors and seniors received scores that qualify them for college credit. Nationwide, 7.4% of juniors and seniors had scores of 3 or better.
