A city planning official will hold public hearings on a number of applications for city permits or legal exceptions in the next few weeks, including a proposed cell phone antenna in Pacoima, a proposed expansion of a church in a Pacoima residential zone and a proposed expansion of a Target store in Woodland Hills.
An associate zoning administrator or a hearing examiner will hold the hearings at the Sherman Oaks Woman’s Club, 4808 Kester Ave. in Sherman Oaks.
The applications include requests for:
* An exception to the Ventura Boulevard Specific Plan’s landscaping requirements for a proposed expansion of a Target store at 20801 Ventura Blvd. in Woodland Hills. The chain wants to add a total 21,000 square feet of store space and an additional 580 square feet of garden center space. The hearing will be held at 9 a.m. March 4.
* A conditional-use permit to expand by 5,500 square feet El Mesias Methodist Church at 9989 Laurel Canyon Blvd. in Pacoima. The church, which is in a residential zone, is also seeking permission to expand its 35-child day-care center into one that can accommodate 100 children. The hearing will be held at 1:30 p.m. March 4.
* A conditional-use permit to allow Pacific Bell Mobile Services to build a 45-foot-high cellular-phone pole antenna at 13749 Van Nuys Blvd. in Pacoima. The hearing will be held at 10 a.m. March 8.
