Girl, 12, Drowns in a Hot Tub

HUNTINGTON BEACH — A 12-year-old girl drowned Sunday evening after her hair apparently got sucked into an underwater intake vent in a hot tub, police said.
The girl, whose name was not released, was found by her relatives pinned at the bottom of the hot tub about 8:10 p.m., police said. She had been in the tub for about 20 minutes, police said.
Police summoned to the scene started cardiopulmonary resuscitation but were unable to revive the girl. She was transported to a local hospital where she died.
Police said the girl and her family were from Houston and were visiting relatives in Huntington Beach.
