Concordia, SCC to Play in Tournament

The Concordia women’s basketball team will host Southern California College in the first round of the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament at 7:30 tonight.

Concordia (23-7, 9-3) is seeded third in the tournament. SCC (10-19, 2-10) is seeded sixth. Concordia’s Angela Sather was named conference player of the year.

In the men’s tournament, second-seeded SCC (19-11, 9-5) will host No. 7 Point Loma Nazarene (14-16, 5-9) and No. 3 Concordia (20-9, 9-5) will host Cal Baptist (16-14, 5-9) at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

SCC Coach Bill Reynolds was named coach of the year and Kevin Carlson made the all-conference team. Concordia’s Tarik James and Pharoah Jones also were named all-conference.
