KCBS-TV Channel 2 news anchor Beverly Burke has left the station in what her agent called an “amicable” arrangement. Burke, who most recently anchored the station’s weekend news editions, had previously anchored the 4 p.m. newscast. No weekend replacement has been named. . . . Journalist Arthur Kent--who rose to fame when he earned the nickname of “Scud Stud” while covering the Persian Gulf War for NBC--is joining cable’s CNN as a correspondent and anchor based in the London bureau. Kent, who has been working as an independent news producer and for Canadian television since leaving NBC amid a contract dispute in 1992, starts at CNN next week. . . . Grand Ole Opry star Minnie Pearl has been hospitalized since Sunday for complications of a stroke. Pearl, 83, suffered a stroke in 1991 that left her partially paralyzed and ended her performing career. A spokeswoman at Nashville’s Centennial Medical Center would not say whether the current hospitalization was due to lingering complications or to a new stroke.
