Charges Dropped in Brawl Case
A judge tossed out assault and conspiracy charges filed against a Ventura man in connection with a December brawl that sent several men to the hospital and resulted in six arrests.
Municipal Court Judge Thomas Hutchins said there was not enough evidence to charge Timothy Cass, 23, with any criminal wrongdoing. Cass was knocked out and hospitalized during the Dec. 1 melee at a Dana Point Avenue home.
Investigators said several young men had planned to start the fight at the party. But Hutchins said no evidence was presented that showed Cass had any part in the plan.
Hearings for five other suspects with similar charges are still pending.
