Rev. Manuel T. Rolon, a Ventura resident, died Thursday, just eight days after his 90th birthday.
Rolon was born March 6, 1906, in Morovis, Puerto Rico.
He graduated from the Christian Seminary in New York City as a minister. For 25 years, he preached in the Bronx and Puerto Rico. During that time, he also held revivals in such places as Madrid, Spain, and Northern California. In 1933, he married Ramona Rodriguez.
For the past 20 years, Rolon assisted his son, Roberto, who was minister of the Evangelistic Center Assembly of God in Oxnard.
Besides his wife, Ramona, and son Roberto, he is survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 936 W. 5th St., Oxnard. After a prayer service planned for today at 10 a.m. in the Evangelistic Center Assembly of God, 750 Wooley Road, Oxnard, Rolon will be buried at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Garcia Mortuary in Oxnard.
