SEASON AT A GLANCE: A right-handed starter, Morse was the winning pitcher for the Golden Cougars in the City Section 4-A final at Dodger Stadium last season. He has won all six of his starts this season, striking out 47 batters in 41 innings with a 1.54 earned-run average.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: Against Taft, Morse threw his first career no-hitter in a 20-0 victory, striking out 12 and walking none. He allowed only one baserunner, who reached on an error. Allowed to bat for the first time this season, Morse responded with a fourth-inning home run. “I didn’t know which one to celebrate more,” Morse said. “They were both really different, but really good feelings.”
