LANCASTER — Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies Wednesday arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of killing his 77-year-old neighbor.
Ernest Anthony Alva was visiting relatives in Los Angeles when deputies arrested him in the death of Michael Lipsky. Deputies connected Alva to Lipsky after finding unspecified papers in the homes of both men, authorities said.
The two lived in separate homes on a shared property in the 44800 block of Redwood Avenue, deputies said.
Lipsky’s neighbors, worried after not seeing him for several days, called the sheriff’s office about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies found Lipsky’s body in his home.
Alva was held without bail, a sheriff’s spokesman said. The cause of death had not been determined, but was listed as suspicious.
Alva’s arraignment is slated for Friday in Antelope Municipal Court.
