A self-guided tour of Los Angeles-area homes designed by Austrian architect Rudolf M. Schindler will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased in advance or at the Schindler House, 835 N. Kings Road, West Hollywood. For more information, call (213) 651-1510.
Schindler worked closely with Frank Lloyd Wright and is widely known as one of the originators of “California style” architecture, particularly known for buildings that dissolve the boundaries between indoors and outdoors.
Organized as a fund-raiser by the nonprofit MAK Center Art and Architecture, Los Angeles, based at the Schindler’s Kings Road Studio House, the tour will cover several homes and apartments not usually open to the public.
