Boy Scouts will be knocking at your door very soon.
More than 7,200 Ventura County Boy Scouts have started their annual candy sale. Each box of candy comes with a family admission ticket to the yearly Scout-O-Rama festival to be held May 4 at Freedom Park at the Camarillo Airport.
Scout-O-Rama is the highlight of the year for area Boy Scouts and their families, with games, contests, food, entertainment and other events.
“This year, I hope even more families come out to see exactly what types of positive activities Scouting offers our youth,” said Ventura County Sheriff Larry Carpenter, honorary chairman for this year’s event.
Ventura County’s first Boy Scout troop was established in 1910.
